The disease mostly affects children and can occur anywhere on the body, although often it does so in the face, arms and legs. The blisters can be the size of a pea or as large rings. Impetigo may follow an injury or a disease that causes an injury to the skin, like a fungal infection, burns from the sun or an insect bite.
