Muscles play a crucial role in the normal functioning of the lower back and sciatic nerve. If one of the muscles in this area are too narrow or too weak, they have the potential to cause pain. This is usually referred to as Muscle imbalance. The Hamstring muscles are a common fault for this and it is usually the leak is the problem.
In a similar way to which I have mentioned in an article on the piriformis muscle, tight hamstring muscles may also determine that an influence on the low back, sacro-iliac joint and sciatic nerve.
With reference to the lower back, hamstring muscles are attached to the underside of the pelvis, in a similar area of the bony points that you sit on. If this muscle is tight, it will drag on the bottom of the pelvis and encourage them to turn back. If it is around the low back tightness itself, this backward rotation is resisted by the rear and the growing burden will be taken up in and around the lower part of the spine or the sacro-iliac joint. This increased stress is likely to lead to low back pain. Alternatively, if there are no specific tightness of the lower back, and maybe even some weakness, the increased drag resulting from the tight hamstrings may be the lower back to flex too much, this time possibly to Low Back Pain in contrast to the Sacred – Iliaca pain. Either way, Low Back Pain may occur as a result of the tight hamstring muscles.
It is a little different as far as ischiadicus nerve is affected. The sciatic nerve consists of 5 nerve roots from the lower back of the lumbar spine and sacrum. As he does so, the sciatic nerve through the buttock region and down the back of the leg on the back of the knee. What happens after the back of the leg, the sciatic nerve through the hamstring muscles. Consequently, if the Hamstrings are tight, they can increase stress on the sciatic nerve, causing pain.
In both cases, the goal of treatment is to gently stretch the hamstring muscles to stress that on the low back, joint Sacro iliaca or sciatic nerve.
There are numerous ways to get the hamstring muscles. I will now describe a very gentle way of stretching. Only when you feel that this route is too easy when you consider proceeding with aggressive stretches.
While on your back with your knees bent, gently hold behind the knee from the side to stretch and pull your knees toward your chest, stopping when your knee is directly to the ceiling.
When in this position, gently straighten the same knee, so that your lower leg will begin to point toward the ceiling as well.
NB If your Hamstrings are tight, you will not be able to point your foot towards the ceiling!
As you do this, stop as soon as you begin to feel stretching sensation on the back of your leg.
Hold: about 20-30 seconds.
Repeat: 2-3 times.
Repeat: 2-3 times per day.
As you begin to gently stretch the hamstring muscles, there will be more supple. This leads to tension is removed from the lower back, sacro-iliac joint and hamstring muscles, which in turn is the correct function of these two areas and thus healing will take place. As a result, your pain begins to resolve.
Be careful when implementing this route, since it is important you do not allow your back too much too shallow in the ground / surface you are lying on the floor. A simple way to prevent this from happening is that your low back in a neutral position and then gently pull your abdominal muscles. These muscles play an important role in the stability of the lower spine and associated structures, and therefore this work careful in performing this exercise, you will help your lower back and pelvis, with more stability as well.
It is unlikely but not impossible, that your low back pain will resolve in implementing Hamstring alone. The chances are, you may need one or two other exercises as well, they are stretching or strengthening exercises.

Low Back Pain is not just for adults
In recent years, low back pain was thought of as a disease, only the elderly. Well, it’s not just your grandpa the disturbance no longer. Once a rare condition for Pediatric Cardiology, low back pain in children has become a growing concern among many in the medical community.
Children’s skeletal structures are constantly growing until the end of adolescence. Together with the burden of sports activities including contact sports, the incidence of low back pain in children is skyrocketing. In a recent study has found that low back pain was responsible for about 23% of most school absences, and when sports injuries were in the mix, that number jumped to 29%. Even more surprising, researchers discovered that in 75% of the reported cases, childhood low back pain is triggered by low levels and other mental problems. This constitutes a serious concern that demands the attention of parents and health care providers alike. What causes Low back pain in children?
It seems that many of the same issues, health initiate low back pain in adults, such as poor posture, misalignment of the spine, trauma, emotional stress and sports injuries, have the same impact on children. Adding to these questions, the fact that most school-age children carry backpacks weigh that 10-20% of their body weight, and you have a recipe for lifelong health and back pain.
Emotional stress is also an important factor to consider. Young people are subject to very different emotions sometimes compared to a roller coaster ride. It can be frightening and exhilarating at the same time, filled with a soaring, sky-high excitement, only to suddenly fall into a downward spiral. It is interesting that this roller coaster emotions were associated with lower back pain. Research in England with children aged 11 to 14 showed that children with a higher psychological and social difficulties are much more likely to experience low back pain than their peers.
The good news is that chiropractic can help us
If spinal vertebrae are wrong, regardless of whether an adult or a child, the diagnosis is vertebral subluxation. That sounds like a terrifying medical condition, but it is that a professional chiropractic doctor can, with great success. However, if untreated, vertebral subluxation can cause frequent earaches, headaches, infant colic, neck pain and carpel tunnel syndrome.
Chiropractic care also affect the nervous system, under a variety of other functions miracle, governs the way our bodies react physically to stress. Chiropractic adjustments actually help your body release-up stress, relieve the tense muscles, tendons and ligaments, and helps prevent low back pain.
Chiropractic is a wonderful, very effective way to enjoy the natural relief of back pain. Your child’s chiropractor is pain-free adjustment of the spine to correct any vertebral misalignment, without potentially harmful drugs or invasive surgery. There is no recovery time, but your child is most likely to experience an immediate relief from pain and the restoration of freedom of movement. In addition, your chiropractor can recommend exercises for lower back pain relief.
What are the three D’s, and your child is in danger?
DDD, CD / DVD disc or degenerative disease, is actually a form of arthritis and has been proven to be a frequent cause of lower back and leg pain in children. Surprisingly, even DDD was diagnosed in infants. And yet, degenerative disc disease is usually not provided by traditional doctors. Rather, a highly skilled and well-trained doctors are chiropractic leading the way in this new medical frontier.
Degenerative disc disease sounds like a progressive, very frightening that the disease could certainly Alarm parent company, so here is a brief explanation of DDD. Changes in the water and protein content of the body’s own cartilage results in weaker, more fragile and thin cartilage. This usually occurs more than we get older. Now that both the discs and the joints that stack the vertebrae are partly of cartilage, these areas are, unfortunately, subject to the degenerative changes. The deterioration of the disc between the vertebrae is known as degenerative disc disease, and makes the tissue susceptible to disc hernia ion.
Naturheilverfahren with degenerative disc disease are available, the important thing is to remember that chiropractic care offers you and your child gentle, effective treatment of degenerative disc disease. Early detection and treatment is the key to optimal use, however. Research at St. Louis University led by Francis W. Smith, MD showed that degenerative changes in the spines of the pediatric study participants occurred much earlier than previously anticipated, creating a predisposition for muscle and muscle and ligament sprains and Zerrungen, Arthritis and the spinal joints.
DDD is not always accompanied by lower back or leg pain, so that the wisest course of action is preventive chiropractic care for you and your children. In addition, Dr. Smith advises that degenerative disc disease preventive care should begin before puberty. Make sure that chiropractic ask your doctor about symptoms of degenerative disc disease and what treatments are available.
Be Proactive – Protect Your Child’s Health
A wealth of scientific research confirms that chiropractic care offers safe, effective, and drug-free relief from back and neck pain … whatever the cause. So, if your child complains about the low back pain, if you notice a difference in the way he is standing or sitting, if your child seems too clumsy, or if you suspect that a sports trauma, do not ignore this symptoms. Protect your child’s physical and mental health, by creating a professional chiropractic care today.
